Itinerary

1. Day 1 , Ushuaia, Argentina 2028-01-19 Departure 23:00

   Framed by the snow-capped peaks of the Andes and the waters of the Beagle Channel, adventure calls in Ushuaia, the fabled ‘End of the World’. Ride the century-old railway through the wind-beaten lenga forests of Tierra del Fuego National Park; visit the chattering penguins of Martillo Island; or hike around glacial lagoons in sublime mountain valleys. 3. Day 3 , Punta Arenas, Chile 2028-01-21 Arrival 08:00 Departure 17:00

   A windswept frontier spirit blows through Punta Arenas. Here in the far south of Chile, grand 19^th-century architecture reflects the wealth of yesteryear, most strikingly in the elaborate open-air mausoleums of the Municipal Cemetery. Take in sweeping views of the Magellan Strait from the Costanera del Estrecho promenade, or follow in Charles Darwin’s footsteps aboard the replica HMS Beagle at the Museo Nao Victoria, then board a boat to Magdalena Island, where thousands of penguins gather around the historic lighthouse.

   The UNESCO-protected Valdés Peninsula is one of South America’s great wildlife sanctuaries. In season, southern right whales gather offshore, while orcas patrol the coastline and elephant seals haul out below dramatic South Atlantic cliffs. Inland, learn about the Welsh heritage of Argentina’s Chubut province in Gaiman, where traditional tea houses and chapels recall the lives of 19^th-century settlers; explore Patagonian dinosaur fossils in Trelew; and walk among thousands of Magellanic penguins at Punta Tombo, one of the world’s largest colonies.

8. Day 8 , Punta del Este, Uruguay 2028-01-26 Arrival 09:00 Departure 17:00

   Sea lions bask along the harbourside of Punta del Este’s historic peninsula, stretching from the iconic La Mano sculpture to its elegant marina, where yachts jostle for space and restaurants overlook the ocean. Along the coast in Punta Ballena, tune into the region’s artistic spirit at Casapueblo, a white cascade of studios and galleries tumbling down to the Atlantic. Golden coastline extends eastward to the surf breaks and beach bars of La Barra and the easy charms of José Ignacio, where open-fire dining spills onto the sand. 

9. Day 9 , Buenos Aires, Argentina 2028-01-27 Arrival 08:00

   Every neighbourhood moves to a different rhythm in Buenos Aires. Recoleta’s grand boulevards and marble mausoleums give way to the elegant palaces and European architecture of Retiro and Montserrat. Find street art and football fever in La Boca’s colourful Caminito, and settle into vibrant parrillas (steakhouses) and late-night wine bars in Palermo. In the afternoon, wander the cobbles of San Telmo, where tango drifts across leafy plazas, or explore the revitalised red-brick warehouses of the city’s former docklands in Puerto Madero.
